Welcome to the 312th, here's some info to get you squared away. If you want to add/correct something. reach out to Cale Simmons

When you show up, get an inprocessing checklist and start to inprocess, scheuling can help.
Biggest thing to worry about is the monthly newcomers brief you can't do reserve stuff until you complete it. (its once a month)
Ask scheduling to be added to section group chats
Check our website for guides on how to do stuff or links to use. 312as.com some stuff that might be helpful to you would be these guides...
Get a locker (Email or call Bryce Cleary)
Starting with the most important topic: Types of way to pay yourself and coding for FAs/781s!
– 3 PRIMARY WAYS
NOTE: Never start any appointment with “I’m a reservist…” nothing good will come from it. Sshhh. Back to pay..
1 – AT/RPA/MPA – One day period
Considered “Active duty”; cannot use UTAs or TPs in conjunction
If you have a David Grant appointment being on a 1 can be helpful
15 days of AT per year/USE PLEASE/giving back not ideal
MPA is AMC allocated funding for missions
3 MPA vacancies for an augmented crew per mission
RPA is an extra status if you use all AT and forecast to use all IDT status’
AT
Requires 10 days advance request.
Case-by-case. Likely approved for OSTs and Missions with justification.
Not your regular everyday normal guy/reservist things.
2 – UTA (Unit Training Assembly) – 4 hr period
Inactive duty aka IDT
May perform 2 per day
48 per year / max 16 per quarter
40A (UTA Reschedule form) submission required for pay
3 – GTPs/FTPs (TEEPs) – 4 hr period
Bonus statuses we get for being aircrew
Inactive duty aka IDT
Flying TPs: max 2 per day
72 FTPs per year / max 36 per quarter
Sim flying requirements to log: 1 hr/single, 3 hrs total/double FTPs
Airplane flying requirements to log: .1 hr each FTP; .2 hrs total/ double FTPs
GTP: max 1 per day
72 GTPs per year / max 36 per quarter
Must have at least half of TPS be FTPS
Can have 100% be FTPS
TP Binder entry required for pay
Extraneous – RMPS (RUMPS)
Usually reserved for CCs/DOs
4. IDTR (Using GTPs/UTAs with a travel voucher)
Email IDT travel request to scheduling 10 days in advance.
Do NOT travel without notice that IDT travel is authorized.
**Requires AFRC approval**
You have to make 50 points to have a “good year.” If you don’t have a good year you won’t be able to count a year of your time with us towards your retirement and you don’t want to find that out when you go to retire.
POINT SCORE
15 points for breathing (congratulations!)
1 point per one AT/RPA/MPA day
1 point per UTA period
1 point per TP period
Busy Year – No sweat
To get that good year
Use all UTAs (48 + 15 for breathing = good year)
Not required to use a single TP\
Late night sims – I would use 1/AT
4th period sim from 1800-0200 (touches the next day) You get 3 days of AT vs 2 days
IF your life has led you to neglect TPS, go for TPS.
Locals and any flying events – We would recommend FTPs (flying TPS/33s)
This will give you the flexibility to log more GTPS later
Can use all 48 TPs as FTPs but only half as GTPs
If you have an extra duty in the squad GTPs are gold
We don’t expect you for drill weekends as long as you are current.
If you are notified that you are overdue anything, its not an automatic attend the next drill weekend. Clarify the communication with your flight CC. Schedulers will send you bits of info all the time. The priorities of the 349 th will change from month to month. Don’t burn out, just ask more questions.
I charge you with flying/attempting to fly 2 missions/OSTs a year. It’s the only way to keep the whole unit current. Always open to feedback. If locals are the contribution your life can provide, that’s ok. Stay off the 90-day no-fly list.
We’re here to help you and we know that being a reservist is confusing. Please send all inquiries to 312.as.pilots@us.af.mil. 707-424-5354. We try our best to respond to all emails in a timely fashion and send a reply once your inquiry is completed. One scheduler may be communicating with you on a given day, but on a mission or leave the next. If not time sensitive, the org box is the best point of contact.
If you are planning to fly a local
Double flying TPs (no advance request required).
BUT the local cancels.
Without prior coordination you are limited to logging a G1.
WITH advanced coordination, possibly a U1G1. Maybe worth your time to make the request and not need it.
Call your schedulers with further questions/creative solutions.
Tons of different ones out there, just make sure it matches what scheduling has. Check both every so often to ensure you are getting paid what you worked.
